Welcome to the revolution

This is the start of an amazing journey. A myth debunked and a country reborn. Join the revolution here.

You are WELCOME.

First let's bust a common myth: In the 2005 General Election the results where as follows.
the first perrcentage column shows the percentage of votes cast for each party. The second percentage column shows the total votes cast for each party as a percentage of the adult population as a whole.

Party
% of Total Vote achieved Vote as % of total electorate
Conservative
32.36% 19.85%
Labour
35.19% 21.59%
LibDem
22.05% 13.53%
Others or None of the above
10.40% 45.03%

So we see from from the table above that 45.03% of the population did not vote for the 'mainstream' parties at all. This figure, of course, includes the large number of people who did not vote at all. The 'None of the above' supporters.

The outcome of the election was, rightly, decided on the votes cast and (along with some significant boundy bias) this meant that the results were:

Party
% of Total Vote achieved Seats
Conservative
32.36% 356
Labour
35.19% 198
LibDem
22.05% 62
Others (- None of the above)
10.40% 30

Or in graphical terms:
Result of 2005 general election in the uk

Now obviously the massive amount of people who could not face voting for any of the main three, and those that felt that voting for anyone else was a wasted vote had no influence on the result at all. None voters in effect allowed and therefore by default supported the status quo.

The myth is that "You must vote for a main party or you waste your vote!" I am sure that many non-voters felt that it was awaste of time (mere minutes) voting for anyone else.

So to explode the myth: Let us postulate for a moment that all those who refused to vote at the last election, actually voted. Despite believing it to be a waste of time or vote, they still turn out and spend a few moments voting for a candidate from a smaller party, or an independent. What would the outcome be? According to the seat calculator on the BBC website:

Party
Vote as % of electorate Seats
Conservative
19.85% 0
Labour
21.59% 0
LibDem
13.53% 22
Others + None of the above
45.03% 624

NOW can you see HOW MUCH POWER YOU HAVE????

If only non voters voted

SO LONG AS MOST PEOPLE CONTINUE TO BELIEVE THIS MYTH, THE MAINSTREAM PARTIES WILL KEEP WINNING.

What have you got to lose? have the courage to make a stand, mark your cross and let history be made. What is the worst that can happen? Labour win again? Yeah, maybe, but at least you can say when asked to step up, you made the call and did your duty be democracy, for yourself, for your family and for your country
[and these results assume that the main three get as much support at the next election, as they got at the last. Labour are sure to lose at least 1 million votes by the time the next election comes around.]

The Tories and Labour WIPED OUT!!! the other parties or independents have a massive overwhelming majority in the house of commons.

Obviously, this will not happen, but it clearly demonstrates how easily beatable the main parties are. they have such a pathetically low amount of popular support in this country. They can easily be beaten. They are so ripe for defeat.

HOW DO WE DO THIS?

FIRST, we must motivate and mobalise this powerful group. What I am asking for, is for you to make me a teenyweeny promise.

Please become a MAJOR part of history. Imagine waking up the morning after the next general election to see the headline Below:

dare to dream

Just to Commit to actually take action and join this peaceful democratic revolution.

You already do not support the main parties. So, See how easy it is to get rid of them. They CAN be replaced. All that is required is that you SUPPORT this action and join with the majority who want CHANGE.

The first step is to mobalise and that begins here.

I need as many non voters and reluctant voters to join in with a commitment to vote for someone else at the next election. At this stage it doesn't matter who, We just need to be committed to removing this Government and the Tory alternative and the Lib Dems too.

If you agree to this, then fill in a reply to this blog and leave a contact email address.

We can revolutionise these Islands with a small cross!
